There are just as many “mission fields” on USA soil as there are foreign soil.We found that out as we entered New York City, the “City of Nations”.Our hosts were David Van Fleet and staff of Street Life Ministries.David and his family and team have been meeting the needs of the homeless and hurting on the streets of New York for many years.During our week we went to Tompkins Square Park, in lower east Manhattan. Every week Street Life has a step van, or mobile resource center, that is set up on the corner at that park or another.
While there we gave soup, drinks, and smiles. We handed out clothes and basic need packets. Another day we went to Love Gospel Assembly in the Bronx, and helped feed over 250 people.Love Gospel does this everyday.Wednesday we set up in Jamaica-Queens, at a bus stop outside a subway, and prayed for people as they passed by.One of our team was asked to pray for a young man with aids, that he would live a longer more pain free life.Another prayed for a student who had just graduated and wanted direction for his life. What an awesome mission experience!Late in the week the old 5000 square foot home that houses the Street Life family, staff and teams, needed some TLC, so we did some paint and clean up so we can enjoy it even more next year!

Street Life Ministries
Our vision for Street LIFE Ministries is Jesus and People: to serve the people in the Body of Christ through the mobilization and equipping of the saints for a lifestyle of worship, prayer, intercession, the Word and evangelism and short and long term service to help fulfill the Great Commission. It is also to reach the people who are outside of God's eternal family whome He longs to be brought home to Himself.
We provide year-round opportunities here in New York City and the World for church groups, youth groups, college and university students or any other interested team.

Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help. Then your salvation will come like the dawn, and your wounds will quickly heal. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.
